Sunshine suffused the Taíno imagination.
The power of the sun’s rays was foundational to their mythology. The sun reached everywhere, touched everything. The old chaos of the sun provided the creative spark that brought forth all things: mineral, vegetable, animal—it created the Taíno themselves.
To pay it homage, they left what many believe today to be sun-symbols scattered across the Caribbean Islands—petroglyphs etched on the crests of mountains and within the deepest caves. We modeled our distinctive Sun design on a mysterious, one-of-a-kind carving found in the mountains of central Puerto Rico.
We love the asymmetry of its lines. Its rays reach everything, near and far—they strive upward toward the heavens, descend to touch the earth, and flare out in every direction, offering hope, excitement, and the promise of new beginnings.
