Co-founders Inés Capó, from Puerto Rico, and Äfet Burcu Salargil, from Turkey, first met as university students, Inés studying magazine journalism and Äfet fashion design. Though their lives have unfolded across different countries and careers, they have remained closely connected through a shared curiosity about the world, a love of cultural exchange, and a lasting creative bond.

Over the years, their journeys brought them back to one another time and again, from the beaches of the Caribbean to the winding passages of Istanbul's Grand Bazaar. Those experiences would ultimately become the foundation of İTÄ.

Founded in 2019, İTÄ brings together Inés and Äfet's distinct perspectives through a collection of fine, handcrafted jewelry rooted in storytelling, symbolism, and new traditions.

Each piece draws inspiration from the myths, histories, and natural beauty of the Caribbean, interpreted through the lens of enduring Turkish craftsmanship. Ancient artifacts, ancestral narratives, and the spirit of travel inform every collection, creating designs that feel both timeless and deeply personal.
